Applies to:  Nintendo Switch Family, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch Lite, Nintendo Switch - OLED Model

The information in this article can help when you experience gameplay issues when you attempt to remodel an island resident’s home while the airport gates are opened.

We are aware of an error in software version 2.0.0 of the Animal Crossing: New Horizons game that will cause some gameplay issues when the specific sequence below is followed. This error can be resolved and will not occur after downloading the free update to software version to 2.0.1 or later.

If you have downloaded the Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Happy Home Paradise DLC and unlocked the ability to remodel resident homes on your island by talking to Tom Nook at Resident Services, you may experience gameplay issues if you request to remodel a resident’s home while the gates at your airport are open.

We apologize for the inconvenience. If you are experiencing this error, please follow the steps below.

What to do

  1. End your play session and close the game.
  2. Update the game to the latest software version.
  3. Open the game and continue playing. The error will not occur even if the sequence above is followed.
    • If the error occurred for you, there will be no impact on other players who were visiting your island, or on the save data for the game such as the island or residents.
    • Any changes made while remodeling an island resident’s home when the error occurred may take effect the next day. If you make a new request, then the home will be successfully remodeled.
